Welcome to Virgin Atlantic
The opener for the recruitment campaign, built as a proper welcome rather than a sales pitch. We let the people, the pride and the energy of the airline do the persuading for anyone considering a cabin crew career.
Virgin Atlantic is one of the world’s most loved airlines, and Indigo delivered their award-winning recruitment campaign end to end, with me directing throughout: films and brand photography shot across the airline’s headquarters, the Crawley training centre and the crew gatehouse at Heathrow.

Shot documentary-style inside Virgin Atlantic’s Crawley training centre. The best way to show candidates what the role actually involves is to point a camera at the training itself, so that’s exactly what we did.
Virgin Atlantic needed prospective cabin crew to feel what it’s actually like to work there before they’d even applied: the culture, the pride, the energy. Not just read about it in a job spec. They asked Indigo to build a suite of recruitment films and photography that could do that job across cabin crew, training and operational hiring, for one of the UK’s most-loved aviation brands.
I directed across the whole operation: headquarters, the safety training floor at Crawley, and the crew gatehouse at Heathrow, a space most people never get to see. Where the camera couldn’t tell the story, our animators filled the gap with motion graphics, and I stayed hands-on with Virgin Atlantic’s team from pre-production through to the final grade, making sure every frame carried the warmth and rigour the brand is known for.
Virgin Atlantic came away with a candidate experience flexible enough to reshape how they attract and onboard talent. Alongside recruitment partner Amberjack, the campaign won Best Employer Brand Development and Best Candidate Experience at the Recruiter Awards 2023, part of a run of award-winning recruitment work we’ve also delivered for Mars, Unilever and Virgin Media.
