Hilton have been with Indigo for over a decade now, across fifty-plus films with me directing: their sustainability programme, the Uncorking Potential wine series with Helen McGinn, brand films, and event coverage at shows around the world.

Uncorking Potential in the south of France

For this entry in the Uncorking Potential series, we travelled to the south of France with Hilton’s F&B Director Emma Banks and the brand’s sommeliers for a hands-on wine trip with winemaker Gérard Bertrand. Filmed at his Languedoc estate alongside presenter Helen McGinn, it plays out as a proper working masterclass on the wines that end up on Hilton’s lists.

The challenge.

Hilton needed a partner who could match their pace and range: brand films one month, sustainability content the next, event coverage on the other side of the world after that. What mattered most was consistency. Every film had to feel unmistakably Hilton, whatever the category, property or territory, and be turned around fast enough to keep up with one of the world’s largest hotel groups. Enter Indigo.

My role.

I’ve directed every one of these films, and I’m embedded deeply enough in Hilton’s world that the briefing process is second nature now. I know the brand voice, the sign-off chain, and exactly what will make Ciaran’s culinary team raise an eyebrow. That familiarity is what lets the work scale, from an intimate property film with just me and a camera to a multi-day event shoot with a full Indigo crew, including a two-week trip to South Africa that’s still one of the highlights of my career. Helen McGinn’s Uncorking Potential wine series grew out of that same relationship.

The impact.

Fifty-plus films and a decade in, Hilton is one of the longest-running relationships on Indigo’s books, and one of the most varied. We’ve covered nearly every kind of video the hotel group makes: sustainability films, brand overviews, food and drink content, event coverage across three continents, at a pace and quality that matches an in-house team. The relationship keeps growing, and so does the bar. Occasionally literally. It’s Hilton.
